How did they know who sold it? Did he get a bill of sale with the sellers contact info?
Good question. It doesn't explain, but I'm betting he either gave receipt, or the buyer remembered his name/ or has done business with him a few times before..

Still doesn't make sense. They traced it back to Mulehead Dan's (how?) and Dan's guessed that Braziel bought it there?

Ok, so the serial number trace went back to the manuf, then the distributor , then the retailer, then to Mr. Braziel. Since they had the suspect and the gun, they obviously know who Mr. Braziel sold it to.
lol, I was refering to risk of losing money. I never bought a gun with the intent to flip it, just always bought low and if I didnt like the gun, I'd sell it.
