So sorry Jeff. My mom might be traveling the same road as yours. She's supposed to be on chemo/radiation therapy now but she has had a bunch of setbacks and hasn't even got started yet. Your mother is soon to be in a much better place, keep that in mind.

I've watched my father, a former boss and a brother in blue go thru the different stages of cancer. Dad had prostate cancer, while John and Dickie both had pancreatic. Dickie lasted about 3 or 4 months. John only 3 weeks. My dad fought the good fight for about 2 years, but it finally took him as well.

The ugly truth is, none of us get out of this crazy world alive. A demise lies for each and every one of us. What happens to you AFTER you leave this world is entirely up to you. I'm pretty sure all three of those men I just named were born again Christians. Nobody really knows what's in a man's heart except for him and the Almighty.

I also lost a brother in law back in March, but his wasn't cancer related. The reason I mentioned him is because he was so scared to die. I asked him if he believed in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He said he did. I also told him it was a foolish thing to fear the inevitable. We all gotta face that burden someday. He seemed to let go and relax little easier after that and after I prayed with him. I know I felt better on his behalf, anyway.

As for your dear momma...all you (and us) can do is offer up a prayer for her...

Our God, creator and heavenly Father, we love you and we thank you for the free pardon of sin and all the blessings you have given us in our lives. We thank you for Jesus Christ. Your only begotten son, who was beaten, tortured, mocked, ridiculed, stripped of his clothing and dignity. Then made to carry a cross made from a heavy tree to Calvary, while wearing a crown of thorns and being spat upon. Then, as he arrived, he was nailed to that cross, crucified and killed. But He arose on the third day and promised us all eternal life when we leave this world, if we only believe in him. Lord, we present to you this beautiful lady. Please welcome her into your kingdom with open arms and hold her as you both walk the streets of glory. Lord, we also pray that you be with Jeff and the rest of his family, as they are left behind with the absence of their loved one. Give them the strength needed to carry on without her. They will always have her in their hearts. Please forgive us for our many sins, lead, guide and direct us in our daily lives. In the name of Christ we ask, and for his sake...Amen.

Good luck, Jeff. And God bless. :comfort:
That means more to me then you know Evan. Thank you brother.

It's a terrible time to go through for you but your mom will be with her family in her next life. I've always imagined my mom and dad sitting on the edge of a cloud in heaven looking down on us while they were holding hands.
Its comforting to know she is with family while she is still on this earth. Some don't have that option.
Yes sir. I agree. I've imagined many scenarios already. It does help process things.
