Transmission leaking

So, where did the name "crush washer" come from? All I've ever known or seen in hardware stores is the term "lock washer."

It's different than a lock washer, made of copper and compreses down tight. Some dont know but you can use a torch to re aninile the copper and expand it for re use.

As stated above, I'd expect to find a crush washer on that.

When it was loose I don’t remember seeing it. I will get under there and loosen it and make sure. I can’t put one on it though or my fluid will leak out.
