I vote treated! I try and get full 3/4” slats too. I lay treated posts down between upright posts and fasten them so they won’t warp and stand the panels up on that bottom rail as I go. Oklahoma termites shy away from that treated bottom rail and fence lasts much longer.

True for us, but it's normal for everyone else since it's like every other house in the neighborhood.
My place now has a barb wire fence and lots of trees for privacy and I'm happy happy happy. I had a 6ft vinyl privacy fence in an HOA at the last place. Don't miss it at all.

Penetrol is the best, clear or stain. Recoat every 3 years and it will look new and last

As Sgt Dog says, I run a treated 2x6 along the ground and stand fence on the 2x6.

Do NOT use treated for entire fence, only ground contact.

IF you are selling in 4 years or less, save the $$$, use pine and seal with Penetrol. Reseal when you get ready to list.
