If you want to give up your hunt, that's fine. Do it during the regular season. But when I scout out birds on the public land I hunt, then somebody gets to jump in a week early, I'm not thrilled with that.You’re taking the exact opposite position that I take with kids and hunting. In my opinion, the only way to get kids hooked on hunting (and fishing) is to set them up for success. If it means I may be a little inconvenienced or have to forgo a hunt for myself to give a kid a successful hunt, it seems like a small price to pay to me.
You're right. I didn't read the regs on youth season because it doesn't apply to me.
I have 4 kids and tons of nephew and nieces, no luck getting any of them outdoors.
If I had to make a choice and give up all the game I hunt except for one, guess which one it’d be.

I had a Jake hang out for about 30 minutes gobbling and strutting. No big boys so will try again Monday.
Aw heck, those birds don’t weigh near as much as those gigantic deer you shoot so they’re easier getting outta the woods.Heck yeah!!! That’s a nice bird!!!
