You’re taking the exact opposite position that I take with kids and hunting. In my opinion, the only way to get kids hooked on hunting (and fishing) is to set them up for success. If it means I may be a little inconvenienced or have to forgo a hunt for myself to give a kid a successful hunt, it seems like a small price to pay to me. :anyone:
If you want to give up your hunt, that's fine. Do it during the regular season. But when I scout out birds on the public land I hunt, then somebody gets to jump in a week early, I'm not thrilled with that.

If I had to make a choice and give up all the game I hunt except for one, guess which one it’d be.

Last year I never heard a bird and only seen 1 tom but he was on a place I couldn't hunt.

Went out this morning and had a blast and met up with this ol boy. 19lbs. 8” beard 1” spurs.
