Forget about Turner Falls. Especially on weekends. Sorry to say, but its been that way for several years. Arbuckle Lake much cleaner and safer. Recommend the Point campground which is 5 miles south Walmart. Buckhorn campground is about 8-9 miles south of Sulphur. Also Rock Creek campground is primitive, but doesn't get as crowded.
That was mine probably 10 years ago. I'm sure it hadn't changed for the better.

The Hispanic families were pretty much everywhere on the shore below the falls. I’m not disturbed by that. They have every right to be there.
We walked in, took our pics and went on down the road.
What did bother us, as In dozens of other locations, the music was so loud that nobody wanted to be around it. That seems to be a universal thing.

avoid it! To many people, there shuttle system they have now is a friggin joke. Be prepared to argue in language LS that are not English..
I almost drowned there when I was a kid. I don't know how I'm still alive. Never been back since and that was mid 70's.
Agreed, we stopped a couple years back, just stopped for a quick splash, the new water park was littered with lots of trash, dirty diapers, and mariachi music….
Haven’t been there in years, but Lake Murray is just a few miles south on I35.
In the winter months it is good trout fishing and not bad if you don't mind a few fly fishers.
Yeah, those fly fishermen are problematic.
