Turnpike Toll Increases

I love that story... they need to increase pricing for turnpike expansion.. Meaning they want us to fund building more turnpikes .

That is a vicious circle

Caveat: my company, or rather our customers, pay our tolls.

So, if increasing them means fewer people on them, then I’m all for it. Just reduce them when I have to drive my own vehicle on them.

The original law when it was passed in 1947 provided that the Turner Turnpike would be a free road, it didn't take long for the state to realize what a cash cow the OTA is though. Why do you think they've authorized the building of another 32 turnpikes in the state?

That's why they make sure they are never paid for. Politicians and government criminals at work.

I don't know about other turnpikes but when the Muskogee turnpike was built in the 60s they said when it was paid for there would still be a fee for maintenance. There was never word put out about it being free. Still sucks that OTA is raising rates but you can always go the slow way around.

If they actually build the total number of authorized turnpikes the legislature approved going around will be a hard task ...

I use a turnpike maybe once every two or three months.
