Turnpike Toll Increases

How much was saved by eliminating employees of manned toll booths?

None. probably fired and then spent millions putting in new tech for platepay instead AND raised the tolls to do it.


This is going to suck for me when I get called in to the office.

No one really likes turnpikes/toll roads, but what is a better method? Construction and maintenance is not going to get less expensive and traffic is only going to increase.

I don't know about other turnpikes but when the Muskogee turnpike was built in the 60s they said when it was paid for there would still be a fee for maintenance. There was never word put out about it being free. Still sucks that OTA is raising rates but you can always go the slow way around.

Usually costs more fuel and time to take the way around than it does to pay the toll in some circumstances.

I see they have already put up the motorcycle barriers at the plate pay stations so they have to stay in the lane.

Won’t be any time before they start using new car technology or your cell phone.

Another reason to keep an old beater around.

As for my thoughts, roads could probably be maintained with the tax money already coming in, if the state would quit wasting it on unnecessary crap
