We had that old dog in El Reno for the Heritage Days I think back around 08-09 - some of us that worked that deal got to ride it up to Kingfisher and be bused back to El Reno- I'm sure it would not be as much fun if you did it all the time, but every train ride I ever took was a blast to me.

My Daughter Megan and I were on that ride. Fun and unique experience.

No, 4014 could not have made that trip as it was still in Los Angeles on static display in a county park. It was taken to the UP steam shop in Cheyenne WY around 2014 for a full rebuild & return to service. The UP steam locomotive doing tours before that was 844.

2012 saw Big Boy 844 in El Reno. Don't know about earlier years.

Also 2007 for the Oklahoma Statehood Centennial. I saw it in Chickasha that year.
