You can do it! I've never been stung using my above method............I'm not sure how I haven't, but I haven't. Try it, and have somebody video!

Just come back at night, use enough light to see what you're doing, knock the nest off, turn off the light and then you don't have to spray anything???????

It may be slower but will still do the trick.

Get a two liter soda bottle, take the cap off and put about an inch of a citrus soda in the bottom, orange works well and is cheap too. Hang the bottle from a string nearby the nest top up. Generally bees wasps and other flying insects will be attracted, fly to the top climb inside and be unable to get out. After about a week go out with fresh bottles, cap the old one and dispose of it. This also works well if you have a insect problem around your house, hang a bottle in a tree away from the house so they are drawn away from the house to the bottle.

Have you not seen the Hollywood movies when the bad boys/girls have a 3 story tall explosion in the background while they are walking away and never blink?

That would be me.

Wasp spray in one hand, and a good ball cap in the other.............get the wind in your favor and it's on!:) We used to have one tower that always had a red wasp nest in it, usually about the size of a dinner plate. They were always cranky and a couple of times thought I was just going to have to bail out and surrender. Going to have to try Deer Slayers method.

I think my family went to the same Oklahoma Flying Stinging Insect Tactical Response School as you did. When I was young and someone in the family needed a wasp response team they'd send out the alarm and pretty soon there were cousins, uncles, brothers showing up by the truckload to assist in the attack. Of course when you put that many redneck men in that kind of situation things are going to involve the three staples of redneck hornet hunting and that's fire, beer and ball caps. When it involved a particularly large infestation you may even see someone in a "drunken redneck helmet" aka a beer box lol.
