Went to the State Fair today

Gotta go today to support my niece who is in the banjo completion (no, really). Will probably take in about 3000 calories and a few rides while there.

I went to the OKC State fair once when I first moved to Oklahoma back in 2004. Went on a Saturday night with another family. Between the drunks and gang bangers, I vowed to never go again. I did get to see an OKC police officer take down a running perp that had been assaulting a woman. He made a cross field tackle that still puts a smile on my face. He messed that guy up pretty good. Well deserved too.

Now that we've moved to BA, I was thinkng about taking in the Tulsa fair in the morning hours during the work week to see the live stock and exhibits.

That's what the wife and I are doing on Monday. Be there when it opens and about 2-3 hours later we've seen or eaten all we are interested in. Oh and the wife scored free tickets.

That is awesome. I saw a segment on the news about the banjo and fiddle competitions last night. Really cool.
