Went to the State Fair today

Sadly, Ive noticed every year gets more expensive, more packed, less fun, and dirtier...YET I cant seem to NOT go at least once a year! I was told that I WILL be going to the Tulsa fair as its cleaner, nicer, better! Guess I have something to look forward to now...

Well, I mostly eyeballed it, but I took a 2lb bag of corn meal, and poured about 3/4 of it in the mixing bowl. I added 1 egg, 2tblspns of flour, about 1/3rd cup of pancake mix, about 4tblspns of honey, and about 3 cups of milk. Then shove a stick up a hotdog or length of cheese's bum, and dredge it in a pan of plain flour. Dip it in your batter, make sure it's good and coated, and put it in a 355degree fryer. Up next, funnel cake. . .

Ok, for the funnel cake, I used pancake batter. I actually had some left over pumpkin pancake batter from breakfast yesterday and used that. For that I just used walmart's just add water pancake mix, and added a can of pumpkin to it and eyeballed the water after that.

I've bought fummel cake mix at the Bass Pro in Branson. They may have it at the ones in Okla too. Tastes just like the ones they make at the fair. I think the Pronto Dogs at the fair are dipped in pancake batter.

I'm going to the fair tomorrow - free admission! Gotta have a corndog - looking to check out camp trailers if there are any dealers set up there. Might stop at the Red Dog on my way home.
