I couldn't name another song by the Wallflowers if my life depended on it. I'd never actually listened to this one (though I recognized the melody, so I had heard it back in the day) until it showed up in a SiriusXM countdown special this summer. (The countdown wasn't awesome, but it only had a few clunkers in it.)Straight out of HS, I worked at a Subway for a bit and their "Subway Radio" played that, Slide by Goo Goo Dolls every hour. It was a mix of about 15 songs that I can't stand today because of it.
Goo Goo Dolls "Name" is still my all time favorite song and The Wallflowers remake of "Heroes" is my top 20 of all time
Damn you @countryLivin. Now I’m listening to Merle. What a legend
I could listen to his top hits and wouldn’t have to listen to the same song twice for 30 to 45 minutes I be.
Mama Tried
Fighting Side of me
Okie from Muskogee
I think I’ll stay here and drink
Today I started Loving you again.

I don't recall liking the Wallflowers back in the day, but there's something I like about this song.
Wikipedia agrees with you, for what that’s worth.I believe that he's Bob Dylan's son...
