What demon critter is doing this to my yard?

I had to deal with this today.
I really want to thank all of the "skunk whisperers" for giving me the courage to act like I knew what I was doing. My wife insisted I call someone else to deal with it. Got 2 quotes. $300 and $600. With the money I saved I can probably find something to buy here.

Just caught my critters in the act. Cottontail rabbits are digging my holes. Not big enough to den, not sign of scrape, best I can figure is they're digging in the shady watered area to lay in and keep cool.

Update on my rifle click when stalking a Diller the other night. It was a CCI stinger that evidently didn’t get primer material added to it.
Loaded the round into a revolver so it could be rotated. Four good strikes and it still wouldn’t go off. Never had a failure with that model of ammo.
