The problem I see with noodling is it tends to interrupt breeding. I know I wouldn't want someone yanking me out of bed while I'm getting some nookie.
No different then bass fishing beds in the spring or crappie fishing the spawn.
It's hard to let the big ones go. But it's the right thing to do.
Not me. Not ever. Beavers and snapping turtles aren't my idea of fun.

I gave it up years ago. Never had a problem with snakes turtles or beavers. My personal best was a 47# flathead out of Canadian near a place called Boley rocks. Growing up ya wasnt allowed to noodle the good holes until ya could fill a tow sack with carp.
Nope, only tame beaver is fun. Well... semi-tame. Not violent. Or psycho. Or vengeful. Or batshit-crazy... so that certainly narrows the playing field by about 97%. lol
