^^^^ This is it exactly. All the powers in the Republican Party have spent the day begging Akin to PLEASE drop out. They don't want to have this conversation. Problem is, Akin is pretty sure he only "misspoke." Seriously, he doesn't think his fifteenth century understanding of human biology has anything to do with his problem. Science, afterall, is icky, so he lives in a fairy tale world where it's impossibe for rape to result in pregnancy. Hang in there Mr. Akin. Don't let em run you off for saying what the rest of them think.Gotta say I'm with JB on this one. I understand that at the core, they (Republican politicians) are just appealing to their base, and they (pro-life Republicans) are just trying to do what they think is right for the unborn, i.e., ensuring the right to life. While I understand, and would call myself conservative for the most part, on social issues I'm not. They'd get a lot further if they held in the more, well, extreme comments on the matter.
