When do you clean your carry gun?

I do a basic cleanup on both of my Kimber 1911's once every few weeks to get the lint out. Since I carry both, I do a function check, but I don't fire it until I get to the range or a safe place which maybe a few days or so after the cleaning.

I always thought of gun cleaning as a relaxing hobby. So everytime I shoot, regular maintainence, & when I'm bored.
