It's fairly easy to see that our media is controlled (CNN, FOX, MSNBC). They're simply shaping American minds to accept what they've already planned to do.

It's really pretty funny to watch once you realize it's all theater.

Yep. They announced early in the winter that gas prices could hit $4 a gallon by summer. Told my boss "well, that means it will. They always let us know what they are going to do early on". It's never a possiblility, always a plan. I noticed that subtle little hint-implement game a long time ago. Let any semi-serious discussion of us striking Iran come up on our state-controlled media, and I'll guarantee an air strike.

So they voted to intervene in Libya. Will they also vote to intervene in Iran.

If Isreal tells us to......

Florida former Okie.
You probably remember Billy Carter who worked for the Libyan government. Reagan retired, went to Japan and left with a couple of million bucks as a speaking fee. Just before the first Gulf war, the Kuwaiti lobby was spending money like it was going out of style, while the Emir's daughter was lying in testimony to Congress. The Clintons were financed by the Chinese to a ridiculously obvious point. Newt's wife was working for a company owned by Israel while Newt was voting for money and policy affecting Israel.
We have so many foreign lobbies spreading money and power in DC that I am surprised that people don't seem to mind, that they consider it normal.

Libya: The Cost of a No-Fly Zone

According to new report by the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments, three options for a No-Fly Zone over Libya would have three very different costs:

"Full No-Fly Zone" covering all of Libya

- $100 million to $300 million per week

- Initial strike to secure airspace: $500 million and $1 billion

- Six month total: $3.1 billion - $8.8 billion

- Similar to no-fly zone imposed over Iraq (Operation Northern and Southern Watch)

Limited No-Fly Zone focusing on the northern third of Libya

- $30 million to $100 million per week

- Initial strike to secure airspace: $400 million to $800 million

- Six month total $1.18 billion - $3.4 billion

Stand-off No-Fly Zone focusing on costal Libya with only air and naval assets beyond Libyan territory

- $15 million to $25 million per week

- Because this is strictly a stand-off operation with no assets in Libya, CSBA suggests no "initial cost."

- Six month total $0.39 billion - $0.65 billion

- This No-Fly zone would be enforced by three aegis-equipped destroyers.

- These ships, supported by radar monitoring planes (AWACS), and land-based fighter aircraft would intercept violating aircraft from a distance with "over-the-horizon" missiles.

- There is no historical precedent for this sort of no-fly zone.

The group also estimates a 6 month No-Fly Zone could cost as much as $9 Billion. Here's a look at the costs of previous No-Fly Zones:

3 months of air superiority over Serbia cost $2.4 billion

No Fly Zone over Iraq cost $1.3 billion per year

Libya is 6.5 times larger than the No Fly Zone over Iraq.

CSBA (Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments) estimates a 6 month No Fly Zone could cost as much as $9 billion.

And yet, I don't hear the fiscal conservatives even making a sound.

No TP protest.
Eric Cantor is silent as is Paul Ryan

They only object when debt is incurred and spent at home.
Borrow money to intervene in Libya and not even a peep.

Personally, I don't think we should so a damn thing in Libya. The people in power there hate us and the people fighting the government hate us as well. I say that we just let them kill each other. The same people over there that are begging for the U.S. to enforce a no fly zone are the same people that are in the streets chanting " death to America" every chance they get.

I am the Tea Party and I do protest

I support the Tea Party too. If you look back at past post, some people love to take a shot at the Tea Party every chance they get. I am sick of the spending on wars, socialism, and every thing else. It blows my mind to see that people love the spending, gun control, taxes, and all the other things that the anti-Tea Party crowd loves.

My mistake.

When you posted this:
Why is our president not speaking about the situation in Libya, even after he propmted the people of that nation to "rise up"?
it seemed as though you were being critical of his lack of action.

I didn't realize that you wanted him to just talk about Libya. :D

I want the man to address this nation about some real issues. If he wants the people of Libya to "rise up" then he needs to have a summit with them before any commitment is made. the mistakes he is making have been made by past administrations and resulted in funding and aiding future enemys.

In short, what I'm saying is obama is always on the campaign trail, spewing rhetoric and doing nothing constructive. We need a leader not an absentee landlord.

No offense taken Hobbes. I just wanted to elaborate on my opinion.
