so a coworker and I were discussing national debt and I said obama has run up more debt than all other presidents combined and he doesnt believe me. any idea where I can find the actual stats to show him?
It's not really all the presidents combined up to now, but up to 1993 when George H.W. Bush left office...and some of the math/formulas are open for discussion. Doesn't change the fact that he's running it up like mad.

on the whole i find it difficult to discuss the debt w/o looking at the political and economic climate behind it. Also the economy isn't governed by one person and so attributing something so large to a single individual is silly. Only a leftist could think in such centrally planned terms.

Maybe the issue should be who's going to get us out of debt? Or can we ever be debt free again?

I love how they break it down to debt per citizen ($49,849) and debt per taxpayer ($137,794).
Puts it in a bit of perspective of how many of us are actually paying the bills 'round here.
