Back in the late 60's,,,
My brother in law did that to a Case 580 backhoe,,,
They rarely had cabs back then so he fabricated one from PVC Pipe and canvas tarps.

Every other operator in the oil patch laughed at him for it,,,
But by the next summer they all copied his idea in one way or another.

A million years ago when the wife and I were merely kids we shared an old ford pickup that had a faulty defroster. We couldn’t afford to get it fixed. I found a small d.c. heater I jerry-rigged to keep the windshield clear enough to get home on cold nights without having to wait on the heater to finally clear it.

Reminds me of the VW's I grew up driving up north. No fans just vents that somehow let rear engine heat in. It worked about as good as it sounds.
