I've had one from another state for quite some time, but with OC coming, I decided to get an Oklahoma license. I turned in my paperwork March 1, OSBI received it from the SO March 15, I got my license May 19th. 79 days.

After 88 days, I called on 04/23/2012 and my permission slip was in and I picked it up that day. The letter was generated on 05/04/2012 and finally delivered today, May 22nd, 2012, 29 days after I received my permit. Way to go OSBI.

So I was reading the actual SDA on ok.gov and saw this.

If the background check set forth in subsection 11 of this section reveals no records pertaining to the applicant, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation shall either issue a concealed handgun license or deny the application within sixty (60) days of the date of receipt of the applicant’s completed application and the required information from the sheriff. In all other cases, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation shall either issue a concealed handgun license or deny the application within ninety (90) days of the date of the receipt of the applicant’s completed application and the required information from the sheriff.

So since I have a 100% clean record they should complete mine within 60 days. Sweet! I'm 46 days in right now.

I'm sure I am not the first person to read that of course.

That would assume that your fingerprints are acceptable to OSBI. The clock starts running only when the application is complete, which includes good prints. I would guess that if you have not heard from them after 46 days, your prints passed muster.

I was lucky enough that they had "misplaced" my file, after a little over 100 days I decided to call (I know it says 114 days online). I spoke with a very nice woman and she asked for my SS#, looked me up said she didn't see it there (wherever there is) looked for my actual file, found it and said there was no reason I should not have already been issued my license. Told me to give her 2 weeks and she would get me taken care of. I asked her if I could stop worrying about not being approved (which I have no reason to be concerned), she said she couldn't give me an acceptance over the phone but told me "You should have a smile". I mentioned the other OSA'r that had been lost in the system, because my date the card was charged was within a day of theirs in Feb, she knew of that problem. Sounded like my instance was simply human error. Stuff happens, but how organized are they really? She did say that they are usually getting them out around the 60 day period.
