I have to admit that even though I love my Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles, I don't think they're as reliable or durable as my WRX was. At nearly 90K, it was as solid and my 4Runner was at 30K. It got routinely thrashed for the first 40K of it's life, which makes that feat even more impressive. One thing's for sure, what it lacked in luxury was made up for in excitement! :)

I drive a 2004 WRX +P. Love every second behind the wheel.

Honda and Toyota are awesome, but I'm different- I like Mazdas. :anyone:

I think they're pretty exciting vehicles, and handle and drive comparatively well when compared to their peers (i.e. 3 versus a Corolla or Civic, 6 versus a Camry or Accord). Then they make the truest roadster in modern production (MX-5 / Miata), championed the rotary for decades, and even made a Miller cycle engine available for sale.

They're as quirky as a Saab, but are reliable Japanese imports rather than expensive to repair Swedish turds.

I only briefly looked at Sienna, Quest and Odyssey vans (and their price tags) before I picked up the Mazda5 for my wife. I will say though, if Subaru made a mini van, I'd've been all over it.

I had a first-generation WRX STi, complete with electric blue paint, hood scoop big enough to ingest a Peterbilt, and rear wing that made a Superbird's look puny. I installed a carbon-fiber-wrapped SS exhaust with 5" diameter tip, and ran that thing hard for the short time I had it. It was wild and exciting, but the instant-on/off nature of the turbo had me going back to rat motor Chevys and their bushels of torque.

My hatred for it is because it's FWD.

Which car are you referring to?

That's part of the draw for some of us. Sedate and modest performance with the turbo off, insanity on boost. :)

Because the processes to create the batteries are TERRIBLE for the environment. Nickel is mined in Canada, shipped to China to be turned into a sort of slurry, and then onto Japan to be put into the batteries. It's a ridiculous, wasteful, and polluting trip to create a fuel efficient car.

The Mazda Miata is the most affordable and arguably best "driver's car" ever. Period. Any generation.
