Why does the media portray that owning firearms make you a bad person?

Here's what gets me. Every time something bad happens where a firearm is involved, the media wins. Ratings go up, more people tune in, they start having forums and debates on morning talk shows, etc. If they showed the hundreds (or maybe thousands) of firearm uses to SAVE A LIFE or STOP A CRIME that happen every day how would they scare us into watching their show every day? I especially love the look of "concern" on their faces when they interview people. The only thing media outlets are concerned with are themselves and ratings when tragedy happens.

Because there is a government initiative to disarm the populace and the the line between government and media is really just an illusion anymore.

It's the government's way of forming people's opinions so they can garner support for anti-gun legislation.

Because they are puppets that have bought into the whole line of left wing socialist crap.

Funny how they forget that the 2nd protects the 1st and without it they would be digging ditches somewhere instead of writing.

Because we are all gun totin' rednecks with a itchy trigger finger who hate politicians.

Well, I do have to admit of being somewhat guilty of hating some politicians.

But what I was getting at is a news story about someone "suspected" of making drugs for instance and the news headlines goes like so. "Police raided and arrested so and so where they found drug producing items." "Also found was several firearms". WTF does that have to do with anything?

Or does the law state that if they ARE guilty of producing drugs, by owning firearms would make them more punishable? IDK, I don't make drugs, so can anyone shed any light on this?

Because the ownership of firearms implies an increased level of danger? Having grandpa's old 16 gauge in the closet makes the meth cooker that much more of a hazard, I guess. "He was going to defend his operation".
