wondering how using a ladder tree stand on public land would go

i found a ladder tree stand for $70.00 thinking about setting it up the night before the first day of archery and chaining it to the tree. then taking it down the day i hunt would i just be setting my self up for loosing it.

i would put a chain and lock on it i have never had one stolen there has been couple times i got there and somebody would be sitting in it,like i told them the land is public,my treestand is'nt so get out

In that short of time frame, unless followed in, when you put it up, I doubt you would have any problem.

well thats good i found a tree stand earlier this year in the woods but i sure wouldnt sit in someone elses let alone take it
