I just bought a XD40SC, thinking it would be able to use the longer mags from my XDM40. Apparently, the XDM mags are about 0.050" wider than the XD ones. The XDM mags will start into the mag well but get very tight. Could probably force them in, but couldnt get them out then. Can the mag well on the XD40SC be enlarged to allow the wider mags to fit? Will the XD mags then be too loose to work properly? Just trying to be able to carry the same spare mags no matter which gun I'm carrying like I used to do with G17 & G26.
Just buy the right mags, I personally wouldn't mess with it. Get a Glock again.
Going back to Glock isn't an option. I have the correct mags, want to be able to leave a spare mag in each vehicle/mag holder nd it work for either gun. Don't want two mags that look the same but don't interchange. Stress induced excitement is NOT the time to be comparing mags to gun. It's time to grab and go with it.
