To convict on anything the jury will have to believe without a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman did not act in self defense. They will have to determine that he had no reasonable reason to believe he might suffer great bodily harm or death. If the prosecution had any sort of case that might be reasonable, but in this case it isn't even close. The only way I see any reasonable jury deciding that it was anything other than self defense is if they simply lie because they themselves fear great bodily harm or death.

My understanding is that ZMan has to be acquitted of Murder 2 for the jury to give a verdict on lesser charges.
This means that a hung jury on M2 results in a mistrial and the lesser charges are inconsequential unless the state decides to retry the case.
If he's acquitted of M2, then he can't be retried for M2, if a hung jury on lesser charges results in a mistrial.
In that instance, the state would have to retry him on only the lesser charge(s).
I highly doubt the state has the balls to retry him in the event of a mistrial.
