Pic is next to my KAC.

Those both have a 16" barrel, correct? Man that bullpup setup does awesome things for OAL. Very nice!

I like them but just don't have the reason to drop that much on one right now. Not that they are overpriced, rather just priced out of my current pocket money budget.

Correct both 16 inch barrels. I have been wanting to build an SBR and also been eyeballing this. Part of me thinks the look great, other part thinks they are butt ugly. I decided to go this route for a shorter weapon because I'm just to impatient to wait on the government to let me exercise my rights.

Just got back from the range. I really like the Tavor. The Tav D trigger is great. Was only able to shoot 25 yards but it puts the rounds where I wanted them. It's very easy to shoot standing and I found it very easily controlled. My only comparison is my KAC that I also took along. The KAC shoots MUCH softer. The felt recoil was about half compared to the Tavor. The trigger was better on the KAC also but all that was to be expected. I know it's not really fair to compare it to a KAC or really any AR, but that's all I have to compare. Over all I really like it and it's a keeper!

Good points about the bullpup design, besides the obvious advantage of a 16.5" barrel in a package barely over 26" in OAL, include a near optimum distribution of weight. Keeping the weight of a semi-auto rifle between the hands improves its handling dynamics, and the bullpup, with much of its weight behind the hands, is even better yet in that department. The Tavor is not a light rifle at 8 lbs, but it seems lighter in the hands because of the rearward weight distribution (my observations are based on picking one up and handling it at a gun show--I have zero trigger time with this rifle, but most bullpups feel lighter than their listed weights). I'm not a big fan of 5.56mm guns in general, but the Tavor is certainly a gun I'd like to look a little more closely at.

They do make a 9mm conversion kit, you know. I need to make time and get mine to the range to see if I like it as much as Jerry Miculek seems to :wink2:
