Best I've seen live is by far Derek Trucks. He is not my favorite though. Not by a longshot. Technical proficiency is not that interesting to me. At all. I like unique players.

Blake Mills
Matt Pike
Buddy Guy
Ted Nugent (Nuge would be boring if he didn't play hollow bodies. That's fun to watch live)

Al Di Meola. Especially when playing with Jaco. I'm a metal player for a living and a metal fan but I started out in classical and jazz and have followed Al forever. Steve Vai is my main all time fave electric player but Al is the best all around player on the planet, to me.

Eric Johnson. Man I wish I could play like him! Alex Lifeson and Eric Clapton are great also. A lot of my playing style is evolved from these two. I got rid of my Les Pauls and play strictly Strats now because of Clapton and Johnson!
