I thought 95 was the changeover year from 6 to 8 lug on the 2500s.
All of the 3 US made pickup 2500's and duallys were 8x6.5 Up untill Ford changed its around the 2000 or 1999 years. Chevy 6 lugs were all 1500's until 1973 models. And when I say all .. its not all but 98% or so. a FEW 5x5's were built with disc brakes 69ish up until 73 when all were... THEN 6 lug was only 4x4's But 2500's for the most part were ALL 8x6.5 Excluding freaks like this . That Ford called a heavy half. And GM called it something i'll bet. But nobody knows.

But in my 40 plus years of aftermarket wheel business if some called and said. I have a 91 chevy 2500 send me wheels. I would've FKD up and just sent 8 lug wheels. until about 20 years ago when I started asking them ALL to count lugs. just to CYA

@CSeverns other than a set of tires, I'd check the heater hoses and top radiator hose. If they look decent I'd run the balls out of it just like it is. Don't fall into the trap of because it's 3x years old you need to start throwing parts at it. Today's replacement parts are absolute junk! OKC to Conway is easy peasy flat cruise control highway. Run ethanol free gas in it and drive it. Nice truck!

Did I miss it or has someone else already asked about how long the truck might have been sitting or was it maintained and driven regularly before @CSeverns got it and started driving it? Could make some difference in what needs to be checked out or what maintenance might be needed for the trip.

All I can say is they are factory badged 2500 and all factory configuration. (The 92 has been in the family for over 25 years.) Even the rims on the 94 were a factory option.

I have the full set of factory service manuals, electrical diagrams and body books for both trucks too. And a few sales brochures to boot.

OP's opening post: The truck has been well maintained all its life and I currently drive it all over the OKC metro and it never skips a beat.
