So much for Green the Vote. Recreational MJ will not be on the ballot.

No they won't. Nor do they want to grow up.

"Growing up" doesn't have anything to do with it shows outdated thinking as this isn't the 60s and 70s where it was a younger generation partaking in masses. Namely, you have a pretty sizable older demographic that smoke weed for medical or recreational purposes. In which, you might say it's a mentality thing, but then I surely hope you take that conviction to the drinking threads around here.

Here, but occasionally There.
There are several individuals on this board that would "want MJ".... are you calling them liars? Just curious. I can't speak for their actions gaining signatures as they sound pretty stupid to me, however that's a pretty broad stroke you're painting.

My comment, while badly worded, was meant to apply primarily to those pushing for the legalization of recreational use of MJ. As such, those people that are wanting to legalize what is currently an illegal activity could very well be accused of lying about their actions just so they can partake of recreational MJ. After all, anyone engaged in an illegal activity is generally expected to lie about their actions. How many cases of criminals caught in the act that lie about their activities? An individual stopped for suspected DUI stating that "he's only had two beers" would fall into that category, especially if he was well over the legal limit.

Just to point out something here, those in the '60's and '70's are now those that are a part of that "older demographic." Maybe some of them didn't grow up?

Yes, we dodged a bullet there. Everyone will magically stop smoking weed.

Could make that same greatly over-used argument about any/all laws...speed limits don't stop speeding, reckless driving laws don't stop reckless driving, murder laws don't stop murder, anti-fraud laws don't stop fraud, etc.

People acting recklessly or intending to do harm to others is a different scenario than someone smoking some weed, wouldn't you say?

These type of laws only establish a penalty and to some degree might act as a deterrent.
