So, where in the hell was everybody? In the rare occasion I go to Academy, there's always someone loitering around the ammo shelves. Always. And the one in Owasso, the guys behind the gun counter are looking right down the ammo isle. Two guys load up 50 boxes in a backpack and no one sees them? That's unusual.
Well when you can walk around the store, wearing a mask, and get less attention then those not wearing one, I guess you just stand around and wait for the right moment.
That was why we had all of our ammo (except 12 and 20 gauge shotgun shells) behind glass at the Walmart I used to work at. Even the .410 got locked up after we were cleaned out one overnight.Of course, now, they don't have to worry...
It isn't exactly secret. It has been known for awhile that Academy is routinely getting ammo shipments and what days of the week it is for each store.
We even get frequent updates on here, sometimes with pictures of inventory.
