2015-2016 Waterfowl Thread

this wind sucks! three groups of us hunted 3 different ponds about a mile apart. there were ducks and geese everywhere yesterday and today next to nothing. my group saw 4 ducks, my sons group saw 4 ducks and the other group got a little shooting in but nothing what that pond usually does. lousy way to wrap up zone 1. hope everyone else does better than we did

Just one yesterday. Only saw three anyway. Going to hunt this evening for the Zone 1 closer then wrap things up next weekend with one more hunt.

We put an end to the season this morning with a 4 man limit-19 mallards, 4 gadwall, and a sprig. The birds all worked really well...almost no calling and a small spread of dekes...just like they are supposed to this time of year. Most circled once and put the feet down and parachuted in with the steady wind.

Tried an evening hunt, which I have only done 3 times. Went in blind, did some quick scouting and sat down. Had a nice view, but duck numbers were pitiful. Saw 6 before sunset, never close. On my way out, I found the cove I should've been in. Flushed 9 off it just going by.

Only 1 day left for ducks. Killed a nice mixed bag out of the pit this morning. Tomorrow is our annual roost shoot evening hunt!
