As the eclipse was beginning and as it was ending, nothing during on any cams.

The stand I intended to hunt this evening is a two person quadpod, and I asked my wife if she wanted to go sit this evening. My daughter chimed in that she wanted to hunt, so of course, I bought her a license and got to “guide” her again. I insisted she spend some time this afternoon getting reacquainted with my crossbow, and I forgot how good of a shot she is.
The target buck didn’t come in, but we saw the buck with a messed up side and 3 does.
We’re going again in the morning. :thumb:

Holy cow it was slow this morning! We only saw two does where we sat, but the movement on the other three cameras was pretty dead too. Our target buck was last seen on a camera just after midnight about a quarter mile away from where we sat.

My daughter is heading back to Norman this afternoon, so I’ll be by myself again this evening. If my wife isn’t in a rush to get home, I may try to hunt in the morning.

Yep, our cams were slow. Gave us a chance to look for my sons doe and get that feeder motor back on that the buck knocked off.
As I was testing the function of the motor to see if the fall damaged it, the display faded out. Caught the battery just in time and luckily had another charged one ready to go.

I'm having lots of buck and doe activity, but we are overran with the does, so nothing new. Lots of young bucks with the occasional OMG bucks that come and go. My areas are 98% wheatfields with tree rows along the section lines. Not much there for keeping a buck in one location, but they do move around a lot.

I didn’t get skunked this evening, but it was close. All I saw was a doe, and there wasn’t much activity on my cameras until after 7. I guess I’m going to sit in a stand before heading home in the morning, but sleeping in is sounding like a better option. :anyone:
I sat all day yesterday, one little fella came in around 7:30am, then I had 3 does standing across the field at 7:30PM on my way out. Was a long day.
