i don’t wear full camo often. And I don’t think any of it matches any more even if I do. Camo definitely works. But so does holding still, playing the wind and paying attention. And I can understand folks putting on full camo to get in a blind. It’s part of the ritual. And has been said previously - you paid for them so You may as well use them. And it never hurts to be prepared to go rogue.

My buddy smokes and deer walk up to him.
I was talking 50 75 yards from him calling it quits and began walking to my buddy and a deer followed behind me about 15 feet inside the woods all the way to my friend .
He missed the shot at around 25 feet.

I am taking a 9 volt radio shack transistor radio into the woods this year and set it down and turn it on and see if that whitetail curiosity comes to investigate it.
My dad used to check the wind with vantage menthols. Pretty sure he did it to let the deer know a gang of armed children were coming to get them (me and my brothers weren’t messing around. dad didn’t wanna have to clean 6 deer on a Sunday night, haha) but one time me and my younger brother and dad were sitting on an old trash pile eating lunch and he lit up and we shot two deer in about 3 minutes. Both came following the very visible smoke trail. I’ve seen several intrigued by the smell of WD-40 too. I’ve have much less luck with weird noises, haha. Hopefully you have different results with your transistor

We took an airboat gator tour through the Henderson swamp in Louisiana two years ago. There are some amazing duck blinds in there. Some two story. There are also a lot of cottonmouth snakes that have to be looking at all that grass camo as habitat.
There are some 55 gallon plastic barrels formed into seats that are nailed to trees that are pure redneck.

I've been known to hunt in blue jeans and blue wrangler shirts.

Edit to add I've never had a blind or tree stand. Hunt strictly on the ground.

Killed a nice Buck on a Cookson Hills special hunt when i still smoked Marlboro Reds. was sitting up as high as you could get in the hills on a terrace, watching down below.. 75 yds off the road.. smoking and a nice buck walked up behind me. thought it was my buddy slowly turned my head. a buck standing 25yrds next to a tree threw my gun up didn't even look through the scope and dropped him like a rock! probably one of the greatest hunting experiences I've had!
