One of the places I’ve hunted here in east Texas for close to 30 years is 400 acres with rural subdivisions on 3 sides, and the deer have never seemed to mind “people noises” unless they’re really close to the houses. I try to hunt toward the middle of the property but can still hear what goes on around the houses. Listening to someone mow their yard or some mama screaming at her kid has always bothered me more than the deer.

The place this happened to me was my FIL land which was 80 acres with most of it wheat field. Probably 20 acres of woods.

That only happened one time and it probably did bother me more than the deer.

Several years ago I was in a stand on my brother's place on the edge of town and apparently a family was having a big birthday party and their music was blaring. Didn't bother the deer, but it was really annoying.

Just depends on what they're used to. One of my best stands is 120y from the landowner's back door. I've hunted there for almost 30y now. Their oldest is 24yo now, also a 20yo and a 13yo who all played/play basketball. I've heard parties, pickup basketball games, lawn mowers, tractors, kids yelling at kids, loud radios, loud exhaust, a vehicle backing into a mailbox and all sorts of noises associated with daily life, all with deer around me.

Yep, been there several times. Luckily all of my neighbors are cool about it.

I’ve been on the other side of that situation more than I can count, and I’ve been cool and accommodating up to this point.

I hope they are getting horny as a billy goat. Drew in at Sequoyah, hunt starts this afternoon. With the weather those bucks pushing does would be a big help.
