Reconyx recently improved their AI image tagging. This graph is for my large gravity feeder. It shows that in the last week daylight deer only come at about 8:15. I think it’s the same doe and “baby”. This is the same feeder that often had 8 deer around it in mid-September. What the heck happened (acorns, rut, switched from protein to corn because that’s all I could get for/from my nice neighbor who filled it for me)? I’m never dumping another bag of corn in it! Bought 31, 50 lb bags of 20% protein this week. I was surprised how empty it was as camera activity plummeted after switching to corn. I’ll be waiting for them in the AM. Opening day was a boomer for my son, dad, and myself. Dad tagged out first on a nice 8pt, then my son with a big 10 that we hadn’t seen on camera since last year, and then I took my turn on a big 8pt about 4:30pm. We’ve never killed 2 bucks in a day when all of us hunted together, let alone 3.

Deer count has been down about 10k all season, then down 16k at the beginning of the week, now just down 10k again? So all season we shoot way less deer but in the last 4 days, one of which was rainy/snowy weather for most of the state, we all of the sudden shoot 2x as many as we did the same 4 days last year? I'm calling shenanigans....

No big bucks here. Froze in the saddle yesterday morning until I couldn't move the toes on my left foot. Kinda cool to see snow on the ground, even though I hate the cold. Back in the saddle at 2PM, and the temp was warmer but the wind was brutal. Does actually showed up where I expected at 430. Can't eat antlers.

Can summer come back now, please?
