I’ve yet to retrieve a 350 legend bullet from a deer. Even at 180 yards and hitting the shoulder it has blown right through

Interesting, I'm a front shoulder shooter, the 350RM pushes a 200gr bullet going 3000fps while the 350L is pushing a 180gr 2100fps. I've yet to punch all the way through in the three deer I've killed with it. All have been between 100y-200y. Must be difference in bullets.

Must be, I shot a good size doe a few years ago with the same round, ranged at 180 yards double shoulder hole about the size of a golf ball
