Grips/holster worth more than the pistol? I like the belt rig! Looks sharp!
Thanks 4 the compliment , been sooo long , don't recall what or where i paid for both , prior 2 an episode that put me in the hospital , belt didn't fit me (ha ha ha ) toooo much pasta , put it on e-bay at 250 , no takers.....used to carry a Black-hawk 44mag , deer hunting , barrel protruded a bit from the bottom , proved 2 b comfortable in the woods of Pa. , although did harvest a young buck a bit over 100 yds in a field....they were the good days......now i mostly hunt & fish in the fields & streams of my mind.......
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving & has a better Xmas , looking forward to my 80th in Jan. , i do believe i'm goin 2 make it , HA HA HA .......Keep laughing & chasing & checking out the Gals.....Keeps us guys young & active.......lest we forget , keep your ball & powder dry......Steve

Well I finally procrastinated myself into getting it re-blued. Wayne at the Hunters Den in Chouteau did a great job.

Very happy with it. Now I'm gonna see if I can wear it out.

That XR3 grip frame and grips are likely worth what you paid for the gun, but I cannot wrap brain around not having a better front sight installed while refinishing. They are great guns, my shabby WMR version a favorite.

Well, we talked about that front sight. We decided he would just clean it up a bit but not replace it. He did round the front of it somewhat but it's still pretty ugly.
But it shoots great so I didn't want to mess with it too much.

If it works, don't fix it. So long as you don't botch the trigger sear or hammer notches through mishandling/thumb slipping, it is nearly immortal. When Bill Ruger came out with the gun, he traveled to shows with a machine which cycled the gun endlessly when the only SA out there was the relatively fragile Colt....the machine wore out and the gun never did.

Don't know that it actually shipped with it but I recently bought a 1957 9 1/2" that came with the mag cylinder. Timing and lock up is great.
The old guns (and maybe new, for all I know) had cylinders fit to guns in most cases, and I had exactly one Old Model Single Six, a flatgate, where a later purchased OM WMR cylinder dropped in and fit, and no other attempt at such with OMs ever worked, one notable version would have required lengthening the ratchet pad and shortening the barrel or cylinder face to work, and I quit trying. You are blessed.
