It's not the people, it's the policies. And, our brilliant society has created a massive mess (e.g., socially, economically, politically, etc.) and then left that mess for the police to clean up, which is impossible. We have to zoom out past "right" and "wrong" and blaming individuals, and deal with the mess ourselves. We have a broken system, and we have to fix it (i.e., not the police).

This mindset is the crux of the problem. There isn't anything "broken". Right and wrong is never broken. It is only redefined in such a way by academic elites to purport that something is broken. We've had bad economic times in the past and people weren't out assassinating cops. Law and order is pretty straight forward concept, clouding it with bogus statistical economic and social analysis doesn't help.

To be fair, most of the failed policies that are leading to police shootings, are developed and field tested from within liberal strongholds. Not all, but a significant majority. So let's unpack some of these failed policies.

  • Attempting to enforce by fiat a socialist set of principles, within the framework of a Constitutional Republic underpinned by democracy and a free market economy, is a failure.
  • Utilizing the legislative branch of the government to enact social policies, is a failure.
  • Utilizing armed government agents to enforce those social policies, is a failure.
  • Utilizing armed government agents to enforce mala prohibita "crimes" is a failure.
  • Utilizing armed government agents to not only collect revenue but also generate revenue, is a failure.
  • Utilizing armed government agents to treat mental illness, is a failure.
  • Utilizing armed government agents to provide family counseling, is a failure.
  • Utilizing the legislative branch and armed government agents to provide special interests with an economic advantage, in a so-called "free market economy", is a failure.
  • Expecting armed government agents and the courts to ignore or downplay mala in-se crimes due to social, political, economic or racial factors (or the perception thereof), is a failure.
I could literally go on for days, but I think you get the picture. IF, we were to restrict government to legislating and enforcing only those laws and policies that pertain to the good governance of the jurisdiction they're charged with, and IF, we were to restrict armed government agents to enforcing only those crimes against other people's person and property, there simply wouldn't be any societal uprising against the police.

Who's at fault? At the core, The People. We elect craven, self-serving people to "public servant positions", then sit back and allow them to redefine those positions as "higher office", with special exemptions and concessions for themselves. We allow them to take money from special interests and utilize it for their own gain. We allow them to define and expect special privilege for themselves, such as automatically assuming honorifics such as "The Honorable Mr. or Ms. Politician". We allow them to call themselves "lawmakers" instead of "representatives" or simply "public servants".

Most critically, we allow them to pass laws that have absolutely nothing to do with good governance or crimes against nature, then utilize armed government agents to enforce those unjust laws against the very people they were elected to protect. Why do we do this? Because we all think we're "special". It's perfectly OK for us to demand that these "public servants" enact unjust laws against people we don't like or disagree with, because we're right and they're wrong! We also demand special consideration, concessions and protection because we're "more special" than those we don't like or agree with. All the while refusing to imagine that those we don't like or agree with also feel special and privileged, and how dare they do the same thing to us that we're doing to them? It's an outrage!!!

Well guess what, no one is even remotely special. No one should be privileged. The POTUS, SCOTUS justices and congresscritters are no more or less special that some 15 year old black transgender paraplegic pauper who grew up disadvantaged in every conceivable way. Neither is the offspring of some lily white, protestant Rockefeller family type who's a Bilderberg, Skull & Bones member any more or less special than the aforementioned.

We are all AMERICANS. Until we place that at the very forefront, with all other considerations a very distant second, we will continue to erode both the society and freedoms we all want and expect. JMO, YMMV...

P.S.
This is the very epitome of not helpful. :(

To quote the wise words of Navin R Johnson's father, "never trust whitey".

There are sects of society that are handicapped by their parents.

High corporate tax rates and retail giants demanding ridiculously high profit margins at the expense of manufacters has contributed to the decline of the unskilled middle class.

How do we fix it? We aren't going to convince the majority of the population to pay more for goods so we're going to need to figure out how to make manufacturers profitable without moving their operations out of the U.S.

If people can't find decent employment they can't live comfortably. Uncomfortable people are cranky as ****.
