Found it in a junk shop. Guy wanted $65 for it. I literally laughed at him and put it back.

Guy sez it's a well known work.
I say it's 50 years out of date, a reprint missing the dust jacket, and it has writing on the flyleaf.

We eventually came to an agreement.

Some examples of the subjects;

Hey Joe! Stand behind this experimental bullet proof glass, and let me shoot at you!

All that book ever did was inspire Jerry Miclek to learn from it and become great...inspired me, too, but it tough to wade through, even if Ed could take out six simultaneously thrown clays and put a cylinderful into a playing card at 12ft in 2/5ths of second.

I've been looking through the book. It's certainly not a novel; more along the lines of a textbook.

It's going to be a slog. I doubt I'll read the entire thing, probably pick and choose.
