Anybody on here a Tulsa Police Officer??

If you are interested the Tulsa Police Department has a Citizens Police Academy -- If I remember right it was 12 weeks long; one night a week from 6PM to 9:30PM -- It gave an officer view of the TPD -- Presentations were made from elements of Aviation; SOT; Bomb Squad; Narcotics; Robbery; Motorcycles; Training; and Patrol -- We got to visit The Tulsa County Jail; TPD crime lab; Gilcrease Division; Comstat (downtown) and the Firing range.

Tulsa County Sheriff has a Citizens Academy-- Not as long; I think it was 10 weeks -- we actually shot a Glock 21 and 870 shotguns on a Saturday at their range.

Its much more than a ride along -- If your a gear person -- this is the ride.

All it cost was desire and some time.

You Want To Go To work with a Law Enforcement Officer, but prefer to be in violation of the 'Paperwork' which is most certainly set forth and written for very obvious reasons.. How would that set you different than any individual that would be recieving a citation while on that ride along?? They recieve a citation for having a taillight out BECUZ IT ULTIMATELY CAUSES A DANGER FOR OTHER CIVILIANS, no matter what thier driving capablility maybe..Your CCL doesn't qualify you to make decisions whether or not to use deadly force in Law Enforcement decisions, and if you truly understood the difference between the two then you wouldn't have started this thread(IMO).. If you want to be armed, in law enforcement situations, then you need to become a law enforcement officer. If you don't feel comfortable being in a law enforcement situation, without a weapon, then you need to become a law enforcement officer, and not expect to be treated special because of your "preference."

If you read the end of ths quote "I have my CCL so does that matter at all?" there is a question mark..... That means I was asking a question. Never once did I say "I am totally going to break the rules and carry a gun when I'm told not to".

sure, I have a few trooper buddies and they will be the first to tell you. Besides you can't even make fun off the folks getting pulled over anymore you have to remain quite while all the recordings are going on!!

Oh ... you couldn't do it back then either ... I got a really nasty look from GC every time he got out of the car and he did that "shhh" thing with his finger to his mouth ... Bastard ... I couldn't have NO FUN AT ALL ... Just had to sit there quietly and listen to the BS that spills outta folks mouths ... OMG, it was SO HARD when that gal kept looking at me and trying to get me to say something to her ... "Is she gonna search me?? Isn't she here to search me?? I don't wanna talk to you guys, I wanna talk to HER!"

If I have to ask nicely to get anything from him (**sigh** and I do) then YOU have to ask nicely ... (For the record, I really didn't want to go on that ride-along. He was trying to prove a point ... and he did ... Shift started at 6am, by 6:45am I was begging to go back home ... nuthin' doin' ... I had to sit in that MFng car ALL damn day ... And the trip to County after shift should have ended (drunk driver, outstanding warrants, mouthy girlfriend and on and on, ad nauseum ... ) was the icing on the cake ...

And I can't believe no one has said they want to do a ride along with BB! (Keep it clean, ya' jackwagons!) Just the social commentary would do it for me! Especially if we were at the Mansion!

You have no idea ... I know who about 3/4ths of those politicians are sleeping with ... and it ain't their wives (No cracks about how our dear Gov likes Troopers ... That was NEVER proved in a court of law ... ) Let's just suffice it to say that if you actually saw your tax dollars at work, you would be even more unhappy than you are now ... Remove the elephants and donkeys and "Vote for Ron Paul" stickers from their lapels and they are all the same ... Bastards ...
