Ask the officer your going to ride with about the weapon question not these guys.

what??!!! he didnt promise me a walk along. I want to turn on sprinklers and harass teenagers walking on the lawn as well!!!btw my son passed his dl test.

There are a few TPD officers on this forum. It may be than none of them want to fool with a ride-along though. I know GC's only taken me and maybe one other person in his 22 years. And he's promised dustingaunder a ride-along if he ever goes back out on the highway, but I'm praying that doesn't happen. I'm trying to get him to retirement all in one piece, if you know what I mean, and he's a whole lot less likely to get mixed up in something at the Gov's Mansion than he is out on the highways and byways of Oklahoma County.

You might check with whichever OHP Troops are up in the Tulsa area, maybe you could do a ride-along with one of those guys. Good luck!

Did you ask nicely?!?!!? LOL (I got mine because he got tired of me telling him all he had to do was drive around, hand out tickets and flirt with the girls at On-Cue ... Of course, this was usually in response to "Why are you so tired all the time? All you do is work for lawyers. It can't be that hard ..." LOL)

I did a ride along with a buddy from HS. I thought it was pretty damn interesting. I thought long and hard a few years back about trying to get into law enforcement, but it never happened. I feel like I'm too old to want to start over fresh, not even factoring in the pay cut I'd take. Couldn't apply at Tulsa anyways. Short some school, and military service means squat.
