Unfortunately, that's not what I've seen. Ask Randy Weaver. Having a SBS and selling to an ATF informant is what started the whole mess with him and his family.

What you're saying does happen quite frequently. But the ATF also prosecutes for the "rule" violations as well. Isn't that what happened to the two guys in the key card case? They were just selling metal cards with parts drawings on them.

The ATF is out of control and needs to be stopped.

Like said the other day some people around here would argue with a fence post over nothing just to hear their head rattle.

The atf is an out of control rouge agency that needs to be ***** slapped back into compliance or completely disbanded.

The 2nd Amendment says it very clearly SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

Now that I’ve cleared all that up for you some of you little red headed step children need to go get your adult supervision and give them back their cell phone

FLAME AWAY IDGAF
I was hoping you would keep going, you were on a roll!😎🍿

And what I’m saying is there should be absolutely no governing body to legislate a law to prevent anyone from owning defensive tools.

As for WMDs, explosives, and big scary automatics, what I’m saying is that they only exist because people like you perpetuate the state and continue to allow it to exist in the vain hope that they can force some of their beliefs and ideas on their neighbors through it, and that it will protect them in return for their allegiance. Take away the real problem (for everyone) and most weapons of war would disappear as well. Most guys on here don’t buy ARs for self defense from a home invasion or a mugging, it’s to defend themselves against the state.

As for the gangbanger neighbor, I know it’s not always simple, but you have 1 realistic option: move.
If big brother wasn’t there to step in, all you’d have to do to take care of the gang banger is, well, take care of him. In one way or another, depending on the situation. And your other neighbors would help you, too, because it would be for their good as well.
I bought an ar because I wanted one.

I have zero delusions of being able to use to defend against a state.

My main concern though is that if this 'exception' meant for the handicap gets abused enough by those that are not entitled to it, then we could very well lose that 'privilege', keeping in mind that 'they' are ALWAYS watching for ways to disarm us by any means possible.
Not sure how anyone owning a brace would be abusing the handicapped. Folks don't need a disability designation or handicapped tag to buy a brace.

If you look at 'Ruby Ridge' and the Randy Weaver trial you will find that the only charge he was ever actually convicted of was "failure to appear" (i.e. contempt of court) which was on a former weapons charge of trying to sell sawed-off shotguns (SBS). He received a $10K fine and 18th months reduced to time served - all other charges were dismissed or set aside.

Do you see anything wrong with a non-handicapped person parking in a handicapped designated parking space @BobbyV?
Do you say 'f**k them' they don't need and shouldn't have special parking spots, or do you think that because they have a problem (maybe with walking) that they should be allowed to park closer to the store than others?
Sir, what does that question have to do with anything I said?

Of course someone who isn't handicapped shouldn't park in a handicapped designated space. That has absolutely nothing to do with someone who isn't handicapped buying an AR pistol brace.

Being that you believe the handicapped should be afforded 'special' parking spots closer to stores because they are handicapped, do you also think that some handicapped people (paraplegics) should be given an exemption from having to pay the $200 NFA tax-stamp that's required to own a SBR or SBS, or should they be treated just like everyone else?
I believe that a parking spot has nothing to do with a brace. If it did, the purchase of a brace would be limited to ONLY those who could qualify. The purpose of the brace wasn't to exempt anyone from a $200 NFA tax stamp.
