Look on YouTube for something like AR15 rollmark and you'll find vids. Been discussed here at length, too.

I did mine with simple model paint and cleaned up with some turpentine. Make sure you put a coat of white underneath most areas if you want the colors to stand out more.

Here are some of mine I did... the OD green I didn't do white under the red, the FDE I did. You can see how much more the red stands out with an underlayer of white.

yea I was thinking about getting some colors to match my magpul gear and maybe paint my Eotech hood to match. but im not quite sure about the hood.

Honestly, for single-color stuff, I've learned to just gloop the paint on, cover the area, then wipe gently with turpentine on a paper towel a couple hours later. Forget all the close-in work and attention to detail. If you're wanting to do just one color, this is quick and easy as hell.
