Trust me fbt has a customer for life there help on here has been greatly appreciated as well as all the others that have posted. As soon as me and the better half get settled into our new house I plan on getting a .300 blk out upper from them. I've only been in the store once but it was one of the most helpful and friendly staffed shops I have been in.
You should buy your buddy the case length gauge. They are very handy for checking sized cases and loaded rounds. He could reimburse you in better reloads.
Years ago i bought some gun show reloads second hand that did just what you described. I bought them to get the six thirty round mags that came with them. I dug them out a few years ago and they were not sized well enough. It wasn't all of them either. It was just an occasional round.
