Best optic for a 10/22?

I am specifically considering the best "overall" optic for any use from target to hunting to survival...probably 1x red dot vs a scope...and if a scope, what about something like 3x9 vs a LPVO vs a fixed 4x???

I put a 1-4 lpvo on my takedown and I like it alot more than I expected. I've always just threw a 3-9 regular scopes on them in the past.
