I travel to Vegas routinely for work these days. I always stay at Sunset station in Henderson. To me it's the best as it's only like 40 bucks a night, and I am cheap when it comes to rooms (I never stay much in my room when traveling). Now this doesn't mean they're posh rooms, but on a chain hotel lever for about 1/2 to 1/3 the price.

Anytime I stay off-strip, there is easy and free parking when I do drive to the strip at Planet Hollywood/Bally's. Just pull right in the garage and park.

Obviously everyone's criteria will vary. On the strip, New York New York is pretty good and relatively affordable, and not in a bad location. The really nice ones from what I have seen inside are Bellagio and Caesar's. I bet the Wynn is up there but I've never seen the accommodations.

Been there a few times, solid advice is to stay on the strip. NYNY is cool, but so is Caesars. Luxor and Excalibur are sort of "out there" a ways. Most of the "iconic" places are dumps. MGM was nice-ish, but it had the monorail hub that'll get you real close to shot.

We use to go 3 times a year and now only 2 times a year..but last October we looked at property (rent house) in and around Vegas. Yes, that's the place (Vegas) where my ashes will be dispersed. ..:wink2:

Questions:

1. Is it a convention you're attending..if so, where is the convention and how far do you want to be from it.

2. Is this a vacation trip and have you been there in the past? Meaning, property to stay and play while being close to other casinos AND being able to walk to them?

3. Do you want on the Strip, off the strip (how far), or downtown/ Fremont?

4. Your own car, renting a car, taxi, walking, tram, or bus?

5. How many days, mainly gambling or sightseeing, kids with you, alone, couple?

6.What do you want to do or see? Have a list or agenda..time will fly by.

7. Buffet or sit down dinning?

**side note*** prostitution is illegal in Clark County. Everything else goes...not prostitution. Other counties in Nevada. ...yes. Clark County..no.

Get off my lawn.
Stayed at Flamingo first year - Never again.
Treasure Island second year - the place to stay for SHOT imo.
Wynn this year - stay tuned.

Been in pretty much every hotel on the strip between us staying and friends staying. Ti was by far the nicest place to stay.

I really like Planet Hollywood. I am by no means a whale or anywhere near it....but, it is nice to "noticed" by the pit bosses while playing black jack. PH is the only place in Vegas that has even given me a wink and it's the only place in vegas I've won any money. Rooms are nice, rates can be decent depending on the time and promos their running. They've got several good restaurants, including a PF Changs that has fair prices.

Also, they have dancing girls at the BJ tables. Who doesn't like to look at scantily clad young women while drinking and playing cards?
