Not to tell you your business and you may have already heard this but, be sure it's the foregrip with screws in the pic slots. Rumor has it that the cheap foregrip with the cheap lil tit that screws up in the pic slot is prone to breaking whilst running the pump with enthusiasm. I heard at least one fella lost a hand in such a way.

You are astute in that observation. I have not broken the grip down, but 1st on the list. I have heard of 2 incidents with the foregrip coming detached and the loss of digits.
I haven't decided whether to keep the vertical post or go with a more secure angle attachment for "shifting". Definitely do not want to slip.

What's that crazyness on the business end of the barrel??

It's a Harrell tuner. Basically an adjustable weight on the end of the barrel that can be moved fore and aft to "tune" the barrel harmonics for best accuracy.

Took a road trip to Missouri today. Wife, daughters and I hit a few gun stores. Picked up a pretty nice Puma .38/.357
