Criminals against Guns on campus

Difference being, smoking around others can be harmful, whereas just the act of carrying a gun alone will not. We're not arguing for the ability to shoot whenever and wherever we please. Just as the anti smoking laws don't prevent the people from carrying their smokes with them, just smoking them.

Second here, what are you proposing? Don't advertise at all, because if we start being successful they'll bring out the big guns in advertisement?

What have you done to educate the misinformed public and restore 2A rights yourself?

This argument is flawed; I wasn't saying I was any great 2A activist, just that ONE PARTICULAR ACTION frequently taken by CCoC chapters is dumb. But what the hell, I'll bite.

I was involved in the preliminary creation of TU's CCoC chapter, actually. However, I lost interest when I realized that most of the other members were more interested in theatrics than an actual conversation. The Sixthirtyone crowd bothers me, too.

I'm also "that guy" who sends letters to the editor of the TU newspaper every time concealed carry on campus comes up. None have been published yet

Apart from that I just do my best to fight the "bitter clinger" stereotype of gun owners. I think you do more good through being a good ambassador of the shooting community on an everyday basis than through histrionics.

Ever think this might be sarcasm? The fact that he is dressing like a criminal and advocating a "gun free" campus is to demonstrate that criminals are in favor of restrictions on guns on campus because such restrictions allow them [criminals] to much more readily victimize peole on campus.

Don't they teach critical reasoning any more?

Seriously though, that was the first thing I thought. It's REALLY is funny that there are people there that took the guy seriously. I dont care if you were studying, and talking on the phone while picking your nose. If you are a gun enthusiast, and part of OSA, and you seen this, there should have been no mistaking the fella. Kudos to him!

We really, really need to fight this stereotype. That's why I bow up everytime I read the following types of threads:

"Kill the Illegal Aliens/mine the border"

"Evil Mooooooooseeeeeluuuuuummmmms"

"Shoot/hang/burn/beat to death/torture _____________(whomever)"

"By GAAAAAWWWWWDDDD, this "Merika luv it or leeeeeve it!"
