when I opened the box ... was at first severely disapointed.
wood looks very plain in the box. got the box home and didn't even open it.

next morning after breakfast and coffee ... opened the box and got a surprise!!! wood looks very different in natural light... very fine grain... fine tiger stripes everywhere. stock is one big burl.

after checking a few wood stock suppliers and checking out how walnut is graded ... wood on this 452 may be exhibition grade.

the few other rifles I've got with 80% or better burls all have inclusions or other flaws. this wood has super fine grain with zero flaws.

tempting to keep this in unfired condition .... nah... this 452 is going to get shot!!!

here's a picture of an exhibition grade stock from volquartsen.

I thought you shot my CZ452 Varmint, Dan. My stock looks just as good as CY's. In fact, all the CZ stocks I've seen look awesome including the couple of 527's and 550's that I've shot. I've been looking at getting a CZ instead of the SPS 700 for my next .204 Ruger... been super impressed with the quality of them.

my CZ 308 bolt has pretty plain walnut... all the CZ wood I've seen at CZ dealer and gun shows with the exception of one .17 varmint has been nicely made, but plain.

looking forward to seeing pic's of you exhibition grade 452 Varmint.
please post soon....

totally agree about all the CZ's being high quality. still got to get a scope mounted... looking forward to seeing if the new 16in barrel 452 shoots good as the 452 Varmint.

dayuum, that is some pretty wood. i'm finding that not only do you get a quality rifle, you just may win the beautiful stock award at the same time.
thats two in a row CY, its my turn now. Thinking about adding a deer hunting caliber in the near future.
